There are various funding resources throughout Utah to assist individuals in the purchase of assistive technology (AT). There is little doubt that the most crucial barrier in acquiring assistive technology is the availability of funding.

Utah Center for Assistive Technology (UCAT)

UCAT employs a full-time AT funding specialist to help Utahns locate financing for needed AT devices and services. This specialist works with rural Centers for Independent Living throughout the state. UCAT strives to enhance human potential through facilitating the application of assistive technologies for persons with disabilities.

Utah Assistive Technology Foundation (UATF)

The Utah Assistive Technology Foundation (UATF) is a private, non-profit foundation which provides low-interest loans to qualified Utah residents with disabilities to purchase assistive technology devices, modified vans, and home modifications, in collaboration with Zions Bank of Utah.

UATF services are provided for children and adults with disabilities statewide. Call 1-800-524-5152 for more information.

Neighborhood Legal Services Funding Guides

NLS, Inc. is a not-for-profit agency that provides free legal services to persons with low-income and persons with disabilities. NLS has developed an excellent funding guide series to help readers understand their rights and responsibilities in purchasing AT devices and services.
